Awareness In The Arts for Children & Youth - A Word From The Founder
BIBLE STORIES THEATRE OF FINE & PERFORMING ARTS - Awareness In The Arts for Children & Youth

   A WORD  FROM  JANET THOMAS
       FOUNDER/CEO

Godly Wisdom is Power. My father had an 8th-grade education, but was empowered with a wealth of Godly Wisdom. A distinguished, humble husband to my stern stay-at-home mother, and strong principle teaching father; my father hammered in me at an early age, that without wisdom, we shall perish. Of course,as a child, I had absolutely no clue what he was talking about. However, today, life lessons has taught me to 'run' after THE WORD OF GOD!  I thirst for Godly wisdom_ "for what does it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul."

We were all created for a purpose, and my purpose was, is, and will continue to be the application of my God-given talent to teach God's Word - THE PARABLES OF JESUS CHRIST on theatrical stage and to academically train children and youth through the fundamentals of the fine and performing arts.

Not long ago, prompted by The Holy Spirit, I created a blog page_ Bible Stories Theatre Greatest Stories Ever Told. A Weekly publication dedicated to The Parables of Jesus Christ, each week I visit each parable one-by-one.  I find it intriguing how The Holy Spirit, when we are open, will captivate when we dwell in scripture.  Christ Jesus came to give life and light.  Hence, His Parables.

While we often place concentration on the teachings of
The 40 Parables of Jesus Christ, our blog page will touch on [47] in the five different  categories:  13-Lessons From Nature; 15-Jobs And Money; 10-Open And Closed Doors; 9-Weddings And Feasts; and lastly, 8- Lost And Found.

So, would it not behoove us to read and study The Parables of Christ Jesus?  Absolutely.  We can then teach our children and our grandchildren to read and love the Word of God. For we know the WORD is GOD!

But, too often, through no fault of their own, our children and youth grow frustrated in their inability to learn in normal school settings. Thus, we sometimes see the result of this frustration in insecurity issues, low self-esteem, violence, and even terrible crimes.

BSTFPA,  is dedicated to developing the total child by using educational theater programs and fully staged productions to build self esteem, confidence, and a sense of community while celebrating diversity in a supportive, noncompetitive atmosphere.  The performing arts are rigorous academic disciplines, which require active learning through creation, practice, rehearsal and performance of works of art. Studying the performing arts involves significant creative thinking and problem-solving skills. The performing arts have intellectual and emotional components. They build a bridge between verbal and non-verbal, between the strictly logical and the emotional - the better to gain an understanding of the whole. Imagine if you will, the joy and ful-fillment our children and youth experience upon completion of the created dances, music, and theatrical works of their own hands. They grow in their ability to comprehend the world and learn to communicate with others.
